German Pancake (per request) - Updated

Update - To make a larger batch, increase these ingredients: 6 eggs to 8 eggs, 1 1/3 cup flour (instead of 1 cup), and 1 2/3 cup liquid (milk & orange juice. Other ingredients stay the same (pinch of salt and one stick butter). I always omit the sugar (called for by the original recipe) from the batter. Use at least a 10 inch cast iron skillet for a batch this size. At Grandma's memorial on Friday, one of the nieces requested my recipe for "German Pancake." This recipe is mine, not Grandma's, but I'm going to mix it in here. My original looks like I clipped it from a magazine and then taped it onto a recipe card. I've heard this called a "Dutch Baby" as well as German Pancake, and when I looked at my recipe card, the name on it actually is "Puffed Pancake." New Quiche Recipe with easy pat-in crust (pics added)

Look at the prior Quiche recipe for baking temperature (350F) and time (approx. 40 minutes). I wanted a pat-in crust that I could use with my new beautiful pie dish instead of a frozen grocery-store crust. This is an easy one. Crust ingredients - 1 & 1/2 cups plus 3T flour (substitute 1/2 cup whole wheat flour if you wish); 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon sugar, 1/2 cup oil (I used olive oil), 3 T milk. Filling ingredients: 3 large eggs, 1 & 1/2 cup whole milk or half & half; 3/4 t. salt, 1/4 t. ground pepper, 1 t. or so Mrs. Dash original, AND 1 cup grated cheese (cheddar works fine), PLUS veggie fillings: 1 cup or the equivalent chopped sundried tomatoes, chopped onion, chopped bell pepper, sliced up asparagus, or whatever filling you want to use. Mix crust ingredients with a fork in the pie dish , then gently but firmly pat the crust into the dish, being careful to fill any gaps. The Family Bread Recipe - Braided loaves with or without sesame seeds

This is a special recipe that has been in our family (the Sicilian side) for a very long time. It is made with butter and milk, and is brushed with a beaten egg before it is baked, to make it glossy. These particular loaves were transported after being shaped and before baking, so they may look a little mis-shapen, but everyone enjoyed eating them! I'm hoping to embellish this post with photos on Sunday (done!), when we are planning to bake this bread for the celebration of Grandma's life. In the meantime, I'm posting it here so I can find it more easily. This card would have been written when I was in my twenties, so it's probably been in my recipe box for 40 years.
