Basic Tuna Fish Salad (updated with pic!)

Here is how to make basic tuna fish salad, using shelf-stable ingredients.

Ingredients

2 small cans tuna fish, opened and drained

1 Tablespoon dried minced onion (optional)

1 Teaspoon lemon juice (from a bottle is fine - shake the bottle first) (optional)

1/4 cup dill pickle relish (we like dill, but you can use sweet if you like); you can chop up a pickle to use, also, if you don't have relish

1/3 cup mayonnaise

Chopped celery stalk (really optional)

Bread or toast for sandwich for serving, or eat a serving as is

Grated cheese (optional, for an open-faced sandwich)

The main ingredients (really, must have) are tuna fish, pickle relish and mayo.

Mix together in a bowl or container, let sit a few minutes. To serve: use for a sandwich or open faced, cheese-topped sandwich on toast (microwave for 20 to 30 seconds to melt the cheese).

Another way to serve:  toast a split english muffin, put a ring of pineapple on each half, top with a spoonful of tuna salad and a slice of cheese, microwave for 20 seconds to melt the cheese.
