Tiramisu in NYC pics - Updated with recipe

Last week while in Manhattan we stopped for "breakfast dessert" at Ferrara's Bakery in Little Italy. Pic of my tiramisu and espresso is above. Below is a panorama pic of the to-go bakery case at the store. I haven't posted my tiramisu recipe on this blog yet, but mine is made with whipped cream mixed with mascarpone cheese (as well as lady fingers, espresso, cocoa and brandy), and is probably more properly called a Zuccotto, according to my Silver Spoon Italian cookbook.

This one seemed to be made of a cooked custard, espresso, cocoa, and lady fingers and was delicious. It might have had marsala wine too (some recipes call for it instead of brandy).

Update -- I came across a good-looking recipe for Tiramisu, which uses a cooked custard instead of raw eggs. It's from the Alessi-brand lady fingers package.
